For those who don’t know, I work in HR at the head office for a very popular fashion retailer in Australia (more on that later).
On Wednesday, I offered to participate in a ‘fit test’ of a dress sample that wasn’t quite working out. 20 female employees got into a room and tried on varying sizes of a particular dress, and then we were paraded around the building so various executives could see how it fit. I thought that would be the end of it.
Turns out there’s not many women my size in the building and now they want me to ‘wear test’ these pants. I need to wear them for a whole day and give feedback on the fit, as well as watching out for any slam slippage, pulling or tearing.
I would never in a million years even try on pants like this. I don’t need any patterns emphasising my booty, and they have gathering on the pockets which I knew would add weight my generous hips.
But you know what? I don’t feel too bad. In fact, I think my legs look quite slim in them.
Slowly, slowly, my body confidence is changing.
That is, until I get to work and 15 other women smaller than me are wear testing the same pants!
Anyway, NSV and happy Friday!!!
