Tonight I ran for the first time in SIX MONTHS.
Yep. Ever since my back injury (bulging disc) in February, I haven’t been able to do any running.
After six months of Chiro, osteo, Physio and Pilates I was finally given the all clear about three weeks ago.
But I was too scared to try. I had a couple of setbacks with my injury and was in so much pain I could barely walk at different stages during my recovery.
I figured today was as good as any day to get back out there. I know running has always helped me clear my head, both physically and mentally and I’m still recovering from a cold I’ve had for over a month now, so why not give it a shot?
I took it easy by doing week 1 of C25K. And? Success!! Only 3.6km, almost one lap of the Tan (for you Melbournites), but it was wonderful! And no pain!
Fingers crossed this continues! I really needed to smile tonight.
